Couple of Things
1) Schedule
I saw a lot of comments asking about the schedule and stuff so here’s the official post. Barring unforeseen circumstances, two english translated chapters come out every day whether its BTTH, Alchemist God or Zhan Long. The pace might pick up or slow down depending on my school workload / how much motivation I have (this has NOTHING to do with donations or comments, its just that sometimes, I want a change of pace and maybe read other translated works like SYWZ from tototranslations).
The actual schedule – So while Zhan Long gets updated every day (or nearly that), I alternate days for the translations/editing of BTTH and Alchemist God. Of course, these are not set in stone, but I normally don’t post an BTTH chap on an Alch God day and vice versa. Today is an Alchemist God chapter and you guys can expect chapter 3 (not counting the prologue) to come out today.
2) Translation differences
I know that I brought this topic up before but its been quite a bit since then and there are more stuff now. So, allow me to say that the translations aren’t perfect, in fact they are far from perfect…
1) Some of the chinese sayings that don’t translate well aren’t as clear cut as they should be (losing face and the like) but we’ve tried to make it as clear as possible.
2) Some of the terms are westernized, most notably in the last chapter, the unicorn. What we translated to be unicorn is called a QiLin. It’s a magical beast that combines four animals together (some what like a sphinx but shaped more like a horseish thing).
3) The sound effects. They were translated mostly by sound (peng, hua etc.) which would make perfect sense in chinese but aren’t as great in english. But for lack of better sounds, we’ve kept it that way.
3) Cleaners/Editors/Proofreaders/Translators
Alright so this is more for the people that want to help out gravitytranslations and do note that the purpose of the roles might not be what you would expect
Cleaners – These people have access to the gravitytranslations site and like their name suggests, they help “clean” the translations. What that means is that the cleaners (mostly readers that read almost every ZL chap) finds a mistake while they are reading and goes in to change it. If you are interested in being a cleaner, please apply underneath the Cleaner Page within the * page. We always need more victims* cough volunteers!
Editors – These people have access to the translated but not yet edited chapters. The requirements for the editors are that the editors knows chinese and is decent in english. This is because the editor looks for errors within the translator’s translations and adjusts them to better fit the chinese meaning. For example, changing “I sent my bee forwards at the undead warrior” to “I sent Baby Bobo towards the undead swordsman”.
Proofreaders – These people are basically the last line before the chapter gets posted. They look for mistakes such as syntax, grammar, subject-verb agreement (ah the SAT) and the like. They don’t have to know chinese but need a fair understanding of the English language.
Translators – These people translate the raw into english/other languages. We need more of them!

I quickly retreated from the field with use of a [Haste] to a more secure location 100 meters back, making sure not to pull any aggro from the surrounding monsters. I was not going to join Lui Ying’s fight, lest I wanted to die in the hands of a few mob monsters. I just stood where I was, watching Liu Ying’s group get picked off one by one.

Looking up at the sky, I watched the drizzling rain fall. Making some rustling sounds, silhouettes began to appear on the vines. All of them were from [Wrath of the Heroes]. There were about 10 players and they were all Lv 40+ 2nd promotion players. As the group of players slowly slid down, a voice came through the thick fog: “Is Xiao Yao really in this deep dark abyss? We already lost a lot of men. If he isn’t here…..”
